As anyone who knows me the ultimate plan is to move to a beautiful place where the temperature is a balmy 75 degrees, every day, partly sunny and preferably near a large body of water. Living most of my life in areas where Winter Wonderland is more like Snowmageddon, I could easily go twenty years without seeing a single snowflake and be happy.  Don't get me wrong, snow is a beautiful thing, especially the first snowfall.  After the fifth or sixth snowstorm and breaking out the snowblower again, the charm wears off quickly.

Living in my paradise place however would mean not experiencing my favorite season, Autumn. There is something very special about the Fall Season that is most representative in the Northeast region of the United States.  Fall is like the last few days of a fantastic vacation before you have to return home.  Those special few remaining days with a special someone at camp before leaving for the summer.  It is something to be savored, experienced and remembered.  The Fall is both a time of change and of reflection before the upcoming bleak days of Winter.  There is a crispness in the air that can be a welcome respite from the heat of Summer. Interesting weather and environmental effects happen in the fall with the change in temperatures.  Also, the days start getting shorter so for me, sunrise shoots are a little later. Finally who doesn't love the amazing colors that occur in the Fall especially in the Northeast. Over the years I have fallen in love with this season, pun intended.  It only lasts for a few weeks but those weeks are some of the best that Mother Nature has to offer.  I have been lucky enough to capture some of this beauty this year.  I hope that if you don't live in the area that you make the trip sometime to any of the New England States at this time of year to experience the color for yourself.  

Fall is here and going fast.  Soon the snow and cold will take it's place.  So for all you Northeast Photographers, get some sleep you've got plenty of shooting to do!
