Photographing horses after a foggy morning at Ender's Island

Last weekend was another fun time romping around the state of Connecticut.  First we started off at a little place called Ender's Island.  A beautiful area that is the location of St. Edmund's Retreat.  The property is open to the public and we thought we would try to catch a beautiful sunrise.  Much to our chagrin, the weather had other ideas.  We had a crew of 6+1 that morning and were greeted by a wall of fog which lasted well into the morning.  No worries, I got some very nice environmental shots that morning so WIN in my book.

Since we ARE the Breakfast Club, we had to find a great place to have breakfast.  We met a lady on the Island property walking her dog who kindly recommended a place called Noah's in Stonington Connecticut.  I, for one was not disappointed.  We all had the Blueberry pancakes except for one member and they were scrumptious.

From there we traveled to Laura's house.  Laura, a friend of (can't call her Curly Top anymore) has several horses on property and we were introduced to each one.  After our formal introduction each horse was led to the horse pen where they gladly strutted their stuff.  We took photos for a few hours and then were off again.

Our final destination was Seaside Point where fun was had by all!  The views from this location were simply arresting.  This site is where the old Seaside Sanatorium was located.  Several of the buildings are still standing.  These buildings were designed by famed architect Cass Gilbert.  The location is now a State Park and the fate of these now dilapidated buildings is in question.  It would be criminal if they were just torn down.  Time will tell what will become of the site.

Well enough for tonight, enjoy the rest of your week and get out and shoot!
