Day trip to New Haven's Lighthouse Point Park aka Five Mile Point Light

There seems to be a reoccurring theme lately and it turns out to be with lighthouses.  This time the mood seemed right for Lighthouse Point in New Haven.  This is another lighthouse that can be difficult to shoot.  The lighthouse is only ever side lit throughout the year.  This is not necessarily a bad thing but if I just wanted the lighthouse by itself, well nuff said.  What is difficult, is getting the different elements lined up to complete the scene.  Clouds are often out of frame and during high tide there is not much for you to work with in regards to foreground elements.  Not to mention this place is very heavily used to host weddings and for engagement shoots. Today was a much better day than most.  Here are two samples from this evening.  I will post the others on my latest page once I have worked through them.

What has been your most challenging experience trying to capture a scene?  Please share in the comments and remember to check out my latest work on the main page.
